This is an English language information program for people living in or visiting the Yatsugatake area, inviting you to join in and experience some of the interesting local events. This is Noriko from the FM Yatsugatake studio in Kobuchisawa.

On Sunday the 29th of April Key-teke-shi Concert Vol. 26 will be held at the Nirasaki Bunka Hall from 3 o'clock in the afternoon. The program includes "Spring" from the Four Seasons by Vivaldi and the 4th Symphony by Gustav Mahler. It will cost 2,000 yen on the day or 1,500 yen in advance for an adult or 500 yen for students under 18 years old. Inquiries to Suzuki-san on 0551-45-8278.
On holiday Saturday the 5th of May the 27th annual Nagasawa Koinobori Matsuri, fish flag festival, will be held at Michi-no-eki Minami-Kiyosato on the Route141 in Takane. It will start at 10 o'clock and there will be all sorts of games, performances and competitions, including a very “messy” game in the mud for children, so, go prepared! On Friday the 4th of May at the Yatsugatake Reed Organ & Harmonium Museum in Nagasaka, their annual Spring Concert will be held from 3 until 4 in the afternoon. It will cost 1,000 yen for adults and 700 yen for junior high school and primary school children for the entrance to the Museum. On Friday the 4th and Saturday the 5th of May the 9th Watowa Matsuri, organic festival, will be held at Kobuchisawa Wellness Garden from 10 o'clock in the morning. 75 booths of locally produced crafts, bakeries, food and drink as well as live music and dance performances are planned throughout the two days. A design by primary school pupils for this year's "Ina-e Art Festival" the artistic display using different colours of rice plants has been chosen and they are looking for volunteers to plant the rice at the paddy field on the Route 141 opposite Takane Fire Station. The actual planting is planned sometime in the middle of May. If you are interested please ring 0551-42-1351 for more details.
On Sunday the 6th of May at the Panorama Market in Oizumi their Sansai, mountain vegetables, and flowering plants festival will be held from 9 o'clock in the morning. Inquiries to the Panorama Market on 0551-38-1705.
