This is an English language information program for people living in or visiting the Yatsugatake area, inviting you to join in and experience some of the interesting local events. This is Noriko from the FM Yatsugatake studio in Kobuchisawa.

Until Sunday the 8th of April at the Hirata-ke house in Kobuchisawa there will be will be a display of Girls's day dolls from the Showa period. The Hirata-ke house was built in the 17th century and is one of the national important cultural properties. Inquiries to the Hirata-ke house on 0551-36-2142.
From Friday the 2nd through Saturday the 10th of March an exhibition named "Mienai Kotozuke", "Invisible Message", will be held at the Kirara Hall in Nagasaka. The works of people with various disabilities who come to the support organisation "Nanohana" will be displayed there. About 30 people come to Nanohana every day to work and play and enjoy life. Shichiken brewery in Hakushu will be opening their doors to the public for Kurabiraki, the first opening of the warehouse of the new season, from Saturday the 3rd until Sunday the 11th of March. There will be an organised tour of the brewery, sake tasting (if you are not driving), a special food corner, and a lot more. Inquiries to Shichiken on 0551-35-2236
The Yatsugatake Aruko-kai, walking club, is organising a Shichiken Kurabiraki, tour on Monday the 5th of March. They will start this 14 kilometre walk from JR Nagasaka station at 9:15 in the morning and plan to finish around 3:30 at JR Hinoharu station, visiting Shichiken brewery in Hakushu on route. On Friday the 9th of March and Saturday the 10th of March at the Sutama Fureai Kan there will be miso making workshops using locally grown soya beans. On Friday the 9th it will start at 2 o'clock in the afternoon and on Saturday it will be from 10 o'clock in the morning. You will have to book your place in advance by telephone between Monday the 19th of February and Friday the 2nd of March. On a first come first served basis, up to 20 people will be accepted.
