On Saturday the 27th of May at the Nirasaki Civic Centre Nicori this year's first Nira-Marche will be held from 3 o'clock in the afternoon until 7. There will be handmade crafts, food, farm produce, live music, dance performance, workshops, as well as a raffle and free sweets for primary school children or younger. The 8th annual Yatsugatake Farmers' Market will be held from Friday the 26th, until Sunday the 28nd of May at the Fujimi Kogen Resort. 37 producers of plants and vegetables will be selling their garden and farm plants, also there will be free lectures and workshops. On Saturday and Sunday there will be a bus service from JR Kobuchizawa station; on Saturday leaving at 9:15 and 13:15 returning from Fujimi Kogen Resort at 12:15 and 15:45 and on Sunday at 9:15 from Kobuchizawa returning at 14:00. On Tuesday the 30th and Wednesday the 31st of May at the Cuckoo café in Kobuchisawa a flea market is planned from 10 o'clock in the morning until 6 in the afternoon. Part of the proceeds will be donated to the Food Bank Yamanashi and Médecins Sans Frontières. They will also be accepting food donations to the Food Bank Yamanashi. On Saturday the 3rd of June at the disabled people's work place Haruno-hi Farm in Nagasaka taue, rice planting, is planned from 9 o'clock until 12. They are looking for volunteers to help them at their paddy field. If you have tagutsu, paddy field shoes, bring them with you but if you don't you can wear socks or bare feet will be fine as well. If it's a nice day a taiko drum band will perform at the break time. There will be free lunch provided for the volunteers after the planting at their Mame-no-Hana restaurant.
