On Saturday the 15th, Sunday the 16th and holiday Monday the 17th of July the 21st annual Yatsugatake Craft Fair will be held at the Yatsugatake Shizen Bunka En, nature and culture park, in Hara-mura. Over 100 participants from all over Japan will be there including woodwork, metal work, Leather work, pottery, glass work, and textiles. Also there will be a number of food and drink stalls. On Saturday the 22nd of July the Mizu-no-Yama, mountain of water, Project is planning their thanks-giving festival at the Megami-no-Mori Central Garden in Kobuchisawa. The Mizu-no-Yama Project was formed by Hokuto City and local companies when Minami Alps area became a UNESCO Eco Park. There will be three parts to this festival; a family workshop for primary and junior high school children and their parents from 10:00 till 11:30 in the morning, a panel discussion on the future of Mizu-no-Yama Project from 13:00 till 14:00, and a food and drink plus farm produce marche by local companies including Suntory, Kinsei-ken, Arsoa, Moegi-no-Mura, Shichiken, and many more. On Saturday the 22nd of July Motoko Morita and her Friends Concert will be held at the Yatsugatake Yamabiko Hall in Takane. It will start at 3 o'clock in the afternoon and will cost 1,500 yen. A violinist and two pianists will perform popular classical pieces. Inquiries to Morita-san on 090-1263-7586.
On Saturday the 29th of July the 39th Yatsugatake Horse Show in Kobuchisawa will be held at the Kobuchisawa Equestrian Stadium. It will start at 3 o’clock in the afternoon and goes on until the grand finale of the spectacular firework display starting at 8:30 in the evening. As well as the horse shows, there will be plenty of entertainment for all the family throughout the afternoon including horse riding, games, taiko drumming, hero shows, BMX bike air show and fire performances.
